This documentary delves into the rich legacy of Chinese porcelain, tracing its origins, craftsmanship, and profound global impact. It focuses on how porcelain became a symbol of status and global trade, particularly among early American merchants following the Revolution. Porcelain connected distant cultures through challenges such as the Canton System and perilous voyages, influencing family legacies and material histories in places like Salem, Massachusetts. The film emphasizes porcelain's role not only as exquisite artwork, but also as a symbol of human connection, heritage, and everyday joy.
